Advent Countdown Calendar

What you get

For families who want December to be about doing things together rather than another box of chocolate. Each day has an activity card: paper snowflakes, a walk to see the lights, pinecone bird feeders, a thank-you treat for the mail carrier. They are gentle, cost little or nothing, and most take fifteen to thirty minutes on a school night.

The calendar is planned around December 2026. The longer activities, like baking and making salt dough ornaments, fall on the weekends, and every card shows its date. Tie the numbered tags to small bags with the day's card inside, tick off the countdown chart at bedtime, and write a line a night in the journal so you have the whole month to look back on.
